How To Start An Online Business For Beginners.

If you are trying to figure out how to start an online business, I bet you are a little overwhelmed. So to narrow down the topic of an online business, I have decided to focus on three types of the cheapest and easiest online businesses.

  • Affiliate Marketing
  • Creating Ebooks
  • Membership Sites

Affiliate Marketing:

Affiliate marketing basically means selling other people's products online for a commission. Affiliate marketing is the quickest and cheapest way to start an online business. There is no inventory to keep, no order fulfillment, and no customer service to deal with.

You can become an affiliate marketer of almost anything. From digital products, to computers, to clothing, and many more items. All you need to do is find a product or service that you believe in and want to promote.

This is how it works. You will sign up for an affiliate program with a company that has created products or offers a service you want to promote. Once you sign up on their website, then they will give you a special affiliate link that is only unique to you. Once you have that link, you can start promoting the product or service on your website or blog, in an email, or even on Facebook, Twitter, and other social networking sites.

Write An Ebook:

An ebbok is an electronic book that you download to your computer. You can read it directly from your computer or print it out. The great thing about ebooks is...you don't have to wait for them to be shipped. You receive them instantly. And people LOVE instant information!

You can create an ebook for next to nothing and sell it for 100% profit!

There are different ways you can create ebooks:

  • Brain storm and research your topic
  • Hold a teleseminar: Have somebody interview you, have the interview transcribed, and then turn it into an ebook.
  • Blog posts: If you have a blog that covers a certain subject, you can turn your posts into an ebook.

Type your ebook into a word document, then convert it to a PDF.

Membership Site:

A membership site is a website that provides information or services to those people who register and pay to be a member.

Most membership sites bill their members on a monthly basis. Once someone signs up as a member, depending on the owner's set up, they are automatically billed each month. Those who sign up to become members have access to member's only information provided by the site owner on a regular basis.

Types Of Membership Sites:

Ongoing: Every month members will pay you for the content in your site. With this type of membership site, you will add content on a regular basis.)

Fixed Term: This type of membership site will last for a specified amount of time. It could last for 3 months, 6 months, 12 months, etc. This is a great way to present lessons into manageable chunks. You could actually turn your ebook into a fixed term membership site.

Membership sites are great because it is residual income. Meaning: recurring monthly payments.

Learning how to start an online business can be a bit overwhelming at first. Narrow down which type of online business sounds best for you, research your topic, and then start learning. Take it one step at a time. Before you know it, you will have an online business up and running.

I have created a free mini-course that covers these three types of online businesses in more detail. You can grab a copy of it at: www.TeachingOnlineBusiness.com

5 Ways To Find Legitimate Work At Home Jobs

There are many legitimate work at home jobs you can do. You just have to know where to look and how to find them. You need to begin to view the world through lenses of opportunity. Many people have ideas, but they don't know how to turn their ideas into income. You have to move out of an employee mindset and into an entrepreneurial mindset. Here I will list 5 ways to find legitimate work at home jobs by always being on the lookout for opportunities.

1.Can you merge some of your interests? For instance: If you like photography and kids, you could teach photography to kids. Think about what interests you have and figure out a way you can merge your interests to come up with some legitimate work at home jobs. Do you have a love for animals and drawing? You could create greeting cards with personalized drawings of animals.
2.Take a look around your area. Are there any problems or complaints that need solving? There's a lady who created a business to help father's and daughters connect. She does this by scheduling events such as: daddy and daughter balls, carriage rides, or any idea the dad comes up with. Why? She saw a problem: many women who struggle with depression, insecurities, low self esteem, promiscuity, and abuse are often the outcome of a poor father-daughter relationship. This is why she decided to dedicate a portion of her life making sure fathers and daughters build and maintain a strong and solid relationship. Her business came from a passion she has.
3.Look at trends. Obesity is not a trend, it's more of an epidemic. But, people can create businesses to help others fight this problem. Are there any ideas you can come up with that could support them? Home based businesses are becoming very popular. People working at home will need help from time to time. You could become a virtual assistant to help these home based business owners out.
4.What personal experience or crisis have you been through? Whatever it is, there are probably people who are going through the same thing you have come through. What are ways you could provide help and assistance to these people? Could you create an ebook, or maybe a membership site for support?
5.What skills or hobbies do you have? Could you provide a service to someone who would benefit from your skills or your hobbies? Are you good with computers, teaching children, decorating, gardening, landscaping etc? Service type jobs will usually bring in money quick.

Just remember, it takes ideas to make money, not money to make money. Start thinking outside the box. Creativity is the poor man's wealth. Be thinking, what can I consult on, teach about, write about, package up, or otherwise share my experience, knowledge, journey, or method? Don't be afraid to invest in your self and in your dreams. There is no scarcity of opportunity to make a living with legitimate work at home jobs, there's only a scarcity of desire and information about how to make it happen.

How To Find Legitimate Work At Home Jobs Right For You

There are many legitimate work at home jobs. However, you want to make sure you start one that is right for you and one that will be profitable. Exactly how do you do this? You need to ask yourself a few questions before diving in. I've put together some questions that will be helpful.

1. What are your interests and skills? Make a list of all of your favorite interests and skills. For instance: do you like decorating, are you good with your hands, do you like to read, are you good at managing money, etc? If you have a hard time coming up with things, ask your
friends and family. They usually know us better than we know ourselves.

2. What magazines and books do you always buy? This is a good way to figure out your interests. Could you figure out a few legitimate work at home jobs that you could create from your interests?

3. Do you like to work with people or do you like to work alone? Do you like to help the elderly, kids, or even animals? What kind of people do you most enjoy working with or serving? This is important because you want to make sure you are going to enjoy what you are doing.

4. What makes you smile? (Activities, people, events, hobbies, projects, etc.) What activities make you lose track of time? What makes you feel great about yourself? If you already know a great deal about a certain topic and you enjoy it immensely, it might be something you can do for a work at home job.

5. Something to visualize: If you had all the money in the world, what would you want to do? Of course we would probably want to go to the spa, beach, mountains, skiing, etc. But what is your passion? We all have giftings and talents in us and if we don’t use those giftings, we will never fully be satisfied. Use your giftings to serve and bless others as well as make a living with them.

Write your goals down. Long term and short term. What’s really important to you? Don’t be afraid to dream. Dream big! If you aim at nothing, you will hit nothing every time. When writing these things down, don’t forget to list things like awards or certificates you’ve earned. What other things have you learned, such as:administrative skills, customer relations, planning, sales, etc.

6 Reasons To Set Up A Blog For Your Business

No matter what kind of business you operate, having a presence on the web is important. You can do that in the form of a website or a blog. In this article, I'm going to touch on the 6 main reasons I think people should set up a blog for their business.

  • It helps to establish credibility. You become the expert by blogging about your particular topic. Produce good quality content for your readers and they will keep coming back.
  • If you have a website for your business, a blog will help you generate traffic to that website. When done right, blogs are very search engine friendly. That means that the search engines (Google, Yahoo, and MSN) like to reward blogs high in the search engines for having good quality content. The more quality content and the more relevant your content is to your business, the more of a chance you have for ranking high in the search engines. When people visit your blog, you can point them to your main website.
  • Start discussions: blogs allow you to communicate with your readers. This will help you establish a relationship with them. Remember, people will come to you for information, but they will stay with you for the relationship. You do this by posting information that your readers will comment on and then you can comment back to them.
  • Produce Content: Do you want to create an information product of some sort. Then start blogging. If you are producing good quality content, you can eventually turn all your blog posts into a small report, a helpful guide, or an ebook.
  • Sell affiliate products and/or your own products. You do this by blogging about a certain topic and then you recommend a product or a few products that would be relevant to that topic. For instance: If you had a recipe blog, you could offer cookbooks, cooking gadgets, or cooking utensils on your blog.
  • Build your list. When people come to your blog, you don't want them to get away. You want them to keep coming back. You do this by offering a free newsletter, free tips, or some sort of free guide. They will give you their name and email in return for the free information. Once you have their name and email, you can start sending them weekly information, tips, resources, and blog updates (any information that you think they would like). You send these emails out by using an autoresponder. An autoresponder is a software that will do this automatically for you. I recommend Aweber for this process.

I hope you see why it is so important to set up a blog for your business. It's a great way to communicate with your readers/customers. You will build a relationship with them and you will have a way to stay in contact with them.

A Realistic Christian Home Based Business With A Purpose

Olivia Montgomery has created the website, www.TheHappyHomeExecutive.com, to give you realistic Christian home based business ideas. She says, “No matter what job you have, as long as you are using your gifts and talents to bless others while you are working, that’s a Christian home based business. God created all of us unique and for specific purposes. When you bring that uniqueness into your business, others will be blessed.” There are many business ideas and tips listed on her website.

Her goal with this website is to help you come up with home based businesses that will bring joy to you and to the people you come in contact with. If starting a home based business intimidates you, she has the know how to help you along the way, step by step. “I understand how overwhelming it can be to start a business. I want to help make the process easier for you”, said Olivia.

She will be updating her site with different home based businesses on a regular basis. Right now she is in the middle of creating video tutorials to help you find your niche market, how to set up a website, how to drive traffic to your website, and much more. “No matter what business you have, you need to have a presence on the Web”, said Olivia.

Olivia said, “I believe God is building up an army of Christian business owners to take God into the marketplace. We are the church, even in the marketplace. God has used business as a tool for years to bring souls into the Kingdom. If you have a desire to start a home based business, don't ignore it, you never know what God is going to do with it.

“When someone enquired about visiting Mother Teresa to help with her work among the poor of India, she encouraged the person to find their own Calcutta. In other words, each of us must discover who it is that God has put our heart to love and reach out to. This makes it personal and meaningful. As we listen to God's voice, we'll begin to sense that we have a particular group, or several groups of people that are on our hearts.

“Think about these things when determining which Christian home based business to start. God wants to change the world through us. Instead of looking or having a business that is separated from who you are, create a business that can be an extension of who God made you”, said Olivia

5 Ways To Determine Which Christian Home Based Business Is Best For You

Do you find yourself wondering which Christian home based business to start? There are several ways to find the one that is a right fit for you. The most obvious place to start would be with prayer to see where God is leading us. But what are some practical ways to get started? Here are 5 ways that can help make this process easier.

1.Make a list of all your favorite interests and skills. For
instance: do you like decorating, are you good with your hands, do
you like to read, are you good at managing money, etc? If you
have a hard time coming up with things, ask your friends and
family. They usually know us better than we know ourselves.

2.Think about the things you wanted to do as a child. Write all of
those down, even if you think you can’t make money with it.

3.What magazines and books do you always buy? This is a good
way to figure out your interests.

4.How much time do you realistically have to put into a business?
If you have small kids at home, you’re not going to have as much
time as someone who has no kids. Be realistic with this. You don’t
want to burn yourself or your family out.

5.Something to visualize: If you had all the money in the world,
what would you want to do? Of course we would probably want to
go to the spa, beach, mountains, skiing, etc. But what is your
passion? We all have giftings and talents in us and if we don’t use
those giftings, we will never fully be satisfied. Use your giftings to
serve and bless others as well as make a living with them

I hope these tips give you a starting point to determine which Christian home based business to start. Remember, don’t be afraid to dream! Even if something sounds too ridiculous to put down, put it down anyway. You would be surprised at how some people are making a living.
